The vault says which version you are reading and which pass wrote its summary
A document in this vault is not one thing forever. Upload the same file
again and the vault keeps both, numbered — version 1, version 2 — so
nothing is ever quietly replaced. That number is the one you can say out
loud to a colleague, and the vault shows it wherever it shows you a
document: in the list, on the processing queue, in the panel you read a
document in, and beside every passage an answer quotes.
The summary is a second thing, and it moves on its own. The vault writes
a summary by READING the document with a model, and it can be asked to
read the same version again later — after a conversion is redone, or once
a better model is configured. The document has not changed and its number
has not changed, but the sentence has. So the vault also records which
pass wrote the summary in front of you, and which model wrote it. Pass 1
by one model and pass 2 by another are different answers about the same
document, and you are told which one you have.
Two things the vault will not do. It will not number a summary a PERSON
wrote as though a model had written it — a person's words carry their own
name and time, and never a model's. And it will not claim a pass it
cannot attribute: if it does not know which model read the document, it
says nothing rather than showing you a number that means nothing.
A summary read by a model records the pass and the model

Reading the same version again counts on from the last pass

- Then the passage says its version is unknown rather than calling it version 1
